This DIY Project was another one that didn't take much time at all:
Items I needed:
* Wood Tray: I bought mine at Ross for $4.00! :) It had a fancy Hawaiian flower pattern all over it. I wasn't crazy about it. Luckily, I was planning to cover it anyways.
*Any fabric you want! : ) I bought mine on Etsy. (Around $10, including shipping) Super fun pink and white Chevron print! :)
*Piece of cardboard: I actually took one of those free priority mail boxes from the post office, and I used that.
*Sheet of glass. I went to my local hardware store to pick this up. Something was wrong with their machine, so they ended up giving me the piece of glass they cut, because it was a tiny bit crooked. Honestly, I couldn't really tell, so it worked out for me!! :)
I started off this project by cutting a piece of cardboard that fit right into the tray I had bought. After I did that, I took the fabric I bought, and wrapped it around the cardboard. I actually just took some tape, and taped the fabric on, just like I would wrap a present. After that, I took the whole tray to the hardware store. They cut the glass to fit directly in the tray.
And TADA! :) The project is done. I really like the look that the glass gives the platter. I actually saw this chevron platter over at
Dwellings By Devore and I just loved it! :) She was able to get her glass for free as well! Of course, I went on a search for hot pink chevron, because I love hot pink!! :)
